Module 3 – The Components of the Scale

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you look at the questionnaire, the questions are split into 3 main sections:

  • Satisfaction Index
  • Frustration Index
  • Outlook Index

The client does not answer every sub section of questions under each section, but selects those that fit their circumstances, e.g. married, single, working, student etc.

Each question the client answered under the Satisfaction and Frustration sections will be scored, depending on whether they answered yes, perhaps or no.  We will look at the scoring system in a moment.

In the Synthesis answers, scores can range from 0 to 20.

Scores to all the answers are put on the summary page of the questionnaire – referred to as the Front Sheet.

On the front sheet there is:

  • a box that shows the totals for each of the 5 Satisfaction Areas – known as the Satisfaction Index,
  • a box that shows the totals for each of the 5 Frustration Areas – known as the Frustration Index, and
  • a box for the scores to the 5 Synthesis questions – known as the Outlook Index.

The totals from the three index boxes are then copied into the box at the top of the page, referred to as the Top Box.

The Satisfaction and Frustration scores can be diagrammatically represented via a circle in the middle of the Front Sheet called the Life Diagram.

At the bottom of the Front Sheet is space for Background Information including Age, Sex, Marital Status, Work Status, and IQ. and whether it was Self Administered or by Direct Question from an interviewer.
